​At Exeter Choral Society (formerly Whipton Choral Society), we enthusiastically celebrated 75 years of choral singing in 2018! We have curated an exhibition ​'Live and Vocal', and recorded memories of the life and times of the choir from its early beginnings during World War II, when Exeter was a garrison city, to the present time when the choir continues to grow and thrive. 
The choir and guests celebrated this anniversary at a special party and an open day in October 2018 at St Stephen's Church (where we used to rehearse for many years before the church renovation).

Our celebrations concluded on 1 December 2018 with a performance at Southernhay United Reformed Church of Mendelssohn's Elijah - a work that has been popular with the choir over its 75 years; Elijah was performed by Whipton Choral Society in 1957 (see the poster above).​
