Exeter Choral Society is a friendly non-auditioning, mixed-voice choir; we perform two concerts each year with professional soloists and musicians. We are a registered charity (number 1110060).
We're back! We plan to recommence rehearsals on September 7th at 7pm at South Street Baptist Church (Palace Gate). We'd love to see all of our members there and some new ones too! The plan is to rehearse for a concert on Saturday, December 4th at St David's Church, Exeter.
We are very grateful to Laurence Blyth for leading singing sessions for choir members via Zoom over the last year. We expanded our repertoire, learning Durufle Requiem and Mozart Missa Brevis K275. The Mozart piece will be included in our December concert.
We rehearse in central Exeter at the Palace Gate Centre (South Street Baptist Church), Exeter EX1 1JA
on Tuesday evenings (September to May) at 7.15 pm until 9.15 pm. Please note the new later finish time.
Choir members can view the Palace Gate Centre's risk assessment and Covid-19 procedures, and should also follow the choir's own procedures for your wellbeing.
New to the area? Always wanted to join a choir, or just fancy giving singing a go? Then come along and try Exeter Choral Society.
New members are very welcome to join our friendly choir. Please contact us if you would like to join us, so that we can provide you with more information. No auditions are necessary, but some sight reading ability is helpful. Membership is £40 per term (or £35 for full-time students with a valid NUS card).
