New Members are Warmly Welcomed
New to the area? Always wanted to join a choir, would like to rejoin a choir, or just fancy giving singing a go? Then come along and try Exeter Choral Society.
It is preferable if you can please contact us if you would like to join us, so that we can provide you with more information. No auditions are necessary, but some sight reading ability is helpful. Subscriptions are a minimum of £50 per term (two terms per annum) - if this might cause you financial difficulty, have a word with our Treasurer (Yvonne) as we may be able to assist with this. There is a small reduction for full-time students with a valid NUS card. Members are welcome to buy their own vocal scores but most choose to hire them from us for a small charge of £2 per item. For some performances you will need a black folder, at the discretion of our MD.
Rehearsal Attendance
The Trustees ask that, in normal times, choir members should aim to attend at least 75% of the rehearsals for any one concert if they wish to sing in the performance, or be otherwise sufficiently rehearsed.
It would be helpful if returning members who have missed a year or more could please contact the Secretary before returning to rehearsals so that we can welcome you and add you to our mailing list. Thank you.
Getting Involved
Thank you to those of you who kindly help with tasks including running coffee evenings, selling cakes or raffle tickets, setting up our staging, librarian, website, publicity, box office and concert management to name but a few. Your help is greatly appreciated by all in the choir. More helpers are always welcome.
